1,000 miles in three days...

The trip started at the Mono Lake Bird Chataqua. This was my first time at this fun little festival and I truly am grateful to the organizers for inviting me to lead a butterfly trip. I explored the Mono Lake area and then headed across Nevada trying to arrive at Bryce Canyon National Park at a reasonable hour (I didn't).
On Route 6 in Nevada a really fun thing happened... I saw about 30 groups of ten wild horses each, while stopped enjoying my first wild horse encounter a male pronghorn walked right up to the fence in front of the horses I was photographing. Then I noticed a very startled badger right in front of my car. What a magical experience. Even the cop who tried to give me a ticket for going 27 MPH in a 25MPH zone didn't rob me of the smile from the experience. I think he was frustrated that my day wasn't ruined so he let me go with a warning. ;-) I will look up the name of the town so the rest of you know of that rotten little speed trap.
Today I spent the day in Bryce Canyon, Grand Escalante Staircase and Capitol Reef National Park. More later...
